Default Wiring harness question

'00 T/A 'vert...

If you look up under the dash, above the brake pedal, there is a wiring harness coming through the firewall. It comes in below the master cylinder in the engine bay. What is it for, and is there normally a ~1/2" hole directly below it... kinda in the plastic part (not near the hood release cable)? I don't think the hole is factory, any idea what it could have been drilled for?

I believe you are talking about your OBDii diagnostics port. That is where you hook a computer up to check out your OBDII issues

Makes sense. Any idea on the hole near it?

Many of the wires coming through that hole are for the ABS, few sensors, wiper motors, and stuff like that. Is the 1/2" hole just in the plastic matt, or straight through the firewall?

BTW: your diagnostic port is down by your right knee/shin if your stiing in the seat.

The hole looks like its mostly through some black plastic. There aren't any wires coming through the hole... the hole is just below the square wring harness "plug"
Yeah, I know where the OBDII port is.

If it's molded into the plastic, it's factory. If looks alittle chewed up and drilled it's probrably not. The firewall has a single peice foamed backed preformed matt on it. It is possible the hole is where one of the push clips was. I just removed mine and I can't remember if there where any clips in that area.

Didn't look chewed, pretty smooth, and about 1/2" diameter. I just sealed the hole with some black silicone...
How big are the clips?
