Stripped plug

The plug on my # 1 cylinder was cross threaded when I pulled it out it took a little bit of the threads out with it(maybe a thread or two), the new plug goes in without a problem, can I get away with this or should I pull the head and have it repaired?

I would just chase it/tap it/rethread it. Shouldn't have to pull the head for that. Don't know about helicoil though cuz I would think you have to go to a smaller shank, but with plugs that's not an option. I haven't ever tried helicoil though.

Start it and see if it leaks. If it dosen't leak I woulnd't worry about it at the moment.

Should I have to worry about any of the metal from the threads ending up in the combustion chamber, I figure they'll not be a problem but I want to be sure.

i would only get really worried if the comp was over 11:1 about it blowing the plug bout out.... thats if you didnt retap the threads and make sure everything was good and sealed
