Default Coolant leak causes car to run hot?

My car seems to run a bit on the hotter side. Its got a 160 t-stat and the fans are always on high because they were programed like that on the pcm. But the car still runs 187-190 degrees on the street, and 190-194 on the highway. This is via my auto-tap. If I fill the coolant resoirvar tank, it will eventually start spilling out from the bottom somewhere. Would that contribute to the car not running cool enough. I do have a tubo-400 trans so the rpm's can't be low all the times, so Im sure that contributes to the temp, but I figured it would be lower.

If it is leaking coolant then it will probably start to get hot when the coolant gets low. I would find the leak and fix it and that should fix your problem

Unbolt the overflow tank and see if the hose is still attached.Or, grab the other end at the radiator by the cap and pull on it and see if you can pull up the other end.
