Default Tach response is slow

When i rev my car the tach is delayed. Is it normal? My friends Z28 dosent do that. Ive hit the rev limiter in neutral and the tach was reading 4500rpm.
When in drive the tach is accurate.

Forget how inaccurate the tach is when you are revving it in neutral, that means nothing. What is much more important is what the tach reads through the gears. A full bolt on car in first gear is about 4-500 low, get a shift light. Try Raptor.
