Maybe your car is faster since you put the Ford Crown Victoria police interceptor emblem on

I take offense to that. I didnt do anything to you.
Are you just jealous becuase my stock car is faster than your modded car that you paid AT LEAST twice as much for?
btw nice site do you even own an F body?

Ok, serious question for a first time oil changer on my 99 LS1(daily driver), and it's starting to get colder here(60's now and eventually 30's). I won't be changing the oil again until mid February or March, so what do you oil guru's recommend? Is Royal Purple better than Mobil 1?, What should I use 5W-30 or 10W-30 or any other? Any opinions are appreciated.

Run German Castrol 0W30. It's been proven through oil analysis that Mobil 1 and Royal purple are too thin for our engines. Reguardless of outside temp, the engine will be operating hot most of the time(30 degrees isnt that cold anyways). The 0W30 will meet all your needs. Make sure to buy the one that says Made in Germany on the back..it should have a green or gold label in the front. It will also say approved for Porsche somewhere on the back of the bottle.

I run Mobil One filters on my car. They are like 12 bucks at Autozone. The Autozone by me also carries the Castrol. And the great part is it's cheaper than the Mobil 1 oil . (Remember make sure you get the GERMAN version of Castrol, not the regular one.) Look around the forum for pics of the bottle...do a search.
(It seems people were having better luck with the green version. Now it's reformulated and it's gold. Either way it's better than the 2 oils discussed in this thread. You can also try Amsoil if you can find it around you. Castrol should be fine though)

Well I went to Advance Auto Parts, Napa, and Carquest and asked them if they carried German Castrol, not one person working in the stores has ever heard of it. So I guess I'll have to call around, is there an online site that keeps it in stock?
