Default Turn signals don't flash

Title says it all. I know in older cars their is a unit that plugs into the fuse box that controls the turns signals. Any idea what the part is called and where it is located?

when mine stopped flashing, and it just went solid and stayed on, it was because one of the bulbs was burned out. just an FYI might want to investigate that first. usually a fuse blown would be followed by them NOT working at all.

Actually they are just solid, atleast on the dash, haven't checked outside the car yet. Should have mentioned that earlier, but the weird thing is that it's both left and right?
