Default what does this sound like??

well i will tell you what i most recently changed first.put mac headers with an off road pipe, new plugs and all new hardware (stage 8s and block off plates) i was driving the car for a few days and got on it one night up to 90 or so and when i started to slow down all i could here was like a flapping sound almost like a bag was stuck up under it.i narrowed it to no body or nothing stuck to the car.it is more noticable after 2000 rpms then after the shift drops back down and gets loud again.does this seem like an exhaust leak?or valvetrain??any ideas ?i pulled all the plug wires and reconnected them already too....

do you have blockoff plates on the emissions junk(AIR, EGR)?? How loud does it get?? Check to make sure everything is tight from the block to the collectors. Just retighten everything if you have to and make sure you dont crack the block when tightening the headers down.

There is a metal to rubber pipe that connects to the first header flange on each header to the AIR system. The check valves are in each little nut thing where the metal connects to the rubber. Do a search for AIR system mod, or check valve mod. I did the mod and it minimized that exhaust hammer you're talkin about. It didn't completely go away til I replaced my magnaflow cback with a LM.

its sounds like when it happened the car was about to back fire, my car has never back fired but, i was driving a jimmy one time and it did the same thing right before it blew off half the muffler, but did it happen again? do you think there may be a leak in the system? thats the only thing i can think of that wouldn't make the ses light come on that would make your car all the suddne "slow down"
