Firebird turn signal replacement.
My passenger side DRL/turn signal doesn't work. The socket is badly corroded. I have read that this is a common problem with F-bodies. My question is, what is the best solution? Is there a place that sells new sockets or am I better off fabricating something? I've tried scraping it with a screwdriver and spraying it with some anti-rust/dirt/corrosion cleaning spray, but to no avail. I would go to a junkyard and try to find one, but I don't know how much better those would be.
I didnt check it myself I because I was told that 5 people had checked it out and noone could figure out so I assumed they were compitant people and figured I would arm myself before I started. Well noone replied so I went looking and found out everyone was a bunch of dumbasses and it was fairly easy. Thats the last time I listen to anyone about how difficult something is.
1) fill the crack with super glue
2) fill the crack with clear silicone
3) Use a clear adhesive film
4) buy a new lens (In the future turn your car off while in a car wash)
take a small fine to clean the connections in the light socket, and put some di electric grease in the socket before new bulb goes in.
