what battery to use?

not sure where to post this

ok, the battery, i think, is shot on my car. i was going to obviously buy a new one and i was looking around, is optima the way to go, or will pretty much any battery do. the reason that i ask is because optima is like twice the price about $130. what battery are you guys running?

Optima should be closer to $110. However, you are correct it is very expensive. You could get by with another battery, you just need to make sure it has the right specs as far as cold cranking amps go and stuff.

I couldn't afford an Optima when my Delco went caput - bought a DieHard.

but is there really a performance diff. as long as the CCA is the same

I'm using a Delco Professional in all my cars. I've gotten 6 years out of these in the past, probably could have gone 7+ but we get some pretty cold winter days here so I didn't want to wait for an issue.

The Delco Professional is better than what comes off the assembly line stock in these cars.

They are gell batteries and they weigh less. I think they would be better for autocrossing and sub 11-12 second drag racing.

the problem with regular battery is the leak. i have seem many people's ride where battery 's been leaking, everything under the battery is rusty!!!

and that white **** corrosion at the terminals!!! opitima will sovle the problem
