Default Need help fast, Alternator problem????

I just tried to start my car today and it will turn over and everything but its like its a struggle and as soon as the belt starts spinning a horrible screeching noise comes from the alternator. Then the car stalls out. I tried this a few times and noticed smoke coming from the alternator and a burnt smell. Could this all be caused by a bad alternator, it was only like 2 weeks old from autozone, remanufactured. Please help. The Alternator doesnt feel hot but the pully is hot enough to burn skin so is the belt. There is also a burning smell???

If its only a couple weeks old, take it back. Im sure theres some kind of warranty on it. Ive found that reman'd products are hit and miss with my car. Thats why most people suggest to bite the bullet and buy a new AC Delco unit.

Nope, its on the bottom inbetween the crank pulley and the AC compressor pulley.

Personally, I never buy anything mechanical at Auto Zone. Been burnt too many times. It's not worth the hassel of removing the item twice.

It just makes more sense to try to get it on top because now to change an alternator I have to jack the car up which I wouldnt complain about but I dont have a solid driveway all I got is crushed shell and grass
Oh well guess the street is going to see some mechanic work
