Overheating? Water pump?
is it my water pump
is my water pump electric or driven by something? i am not to educated on this so sorry for the dumb questions
If it is my water pump what is the best one to replace it with?
Also can it be an air pocket in the system?
It is a 2001 trans am
Most likely it is air. That happened to me when I changed my anti-freeze. Took me a couple hours to figure it out.
I would start the car and watch the temperature gauge just run away. I figured it must be air because the temp cooled in about 5 mins without the engine running. There is a bleeding procedure for your car that definitely needs to be followed. If you have a 2001, I think this thread should cover it.Air bleeding
Good luck man!
