Ignition Problem
Ignition Problem My car starts fine..its a 94 z28..or my other car..but once you let go off the key in the start position it turns off..but if i hold the key in the start position i can drive it around...
Sounds like your ignition key switch went bad. I never heard of that happening before. When you say that if you hold it in the start position you can drive around.... Do you mean turned all the way (to crank the engine)? or just far enough so the springs inside the switch don't push it back to the kill position? There is a push button release right where you thumb is, maybe that's pushed in all the time? On mine, I don't have to push that button to get the key out, but it stays in the run position just fine.
