Default 1997 firebird 3.8L V6

Hey guys whats up, looking for some help with an issue with my
1997 Firebird 3.8L V6

Currently shes got 51k miles on her, excellent condition

I bought this car from carmax around 04' november, and only thing thats been replaced since i bought it was the alternator

Right now my problem is my automatic trans. and need your opinions!

The current problem with the car is that when i really punch the car off the line, my car shutters and studders while its accelerating... this leads me to believe that my auto trans is the source of the problem. My auto trans also studders my car when its in high gears around 50-55mph and i am forced to accelerate inorder to stop it from chokeing itself.

Now what i mean when it shudders or studder is that the car actually chokes on itself while its accelerating off the line as well as in high gears, the cars tends to basically pull back on itself. lol right now its basically like driving a honda civic basic stock model trying to acclerate.... thats how bad im forced to accelerate the car. ; ; please list your opinions on if you think it is the transmission or anything related to these symptoms ive listed. Thank you.

Have you looked at the fuel pump/filter/injectors to see if they could be the cause. It sounds more like a fuel problem than trans (unless the trans acts up @ other times)
It could also be the cat clogged (or starting to) any SES lights

there are no lights on my dash...

Any opinions?

was thinking about using STP super concentrated fuel injection cleaner, and buying a new air filter and fuel filter since they are cheap.

Should i use the STP super concentrated fuel injection cleaner or should i use the STP fuel injection/carb cleaner version?

does it get worse as your driving trip goes on? could be a clogged catalytic converter too.
