Strange Tire Wear
Strange Tire Wear Its my back driver's side tire. It was up front for a bit while the car was out of alignment. Had the car aligned and the tire rotated to the back about three months ago. Last week I notice that the middle of the tire is almost a slick, while the edges have less than decent tread, but good enough to get me to the winter. Is there anything that could have gone wrong with the rear suspension that would have caused this kind of wear?? Or was the tires treadlife comprimised that much by being out of alignment up front for a short period of time. The back passenger side tire is fine. The car handles good, nothing out of the ordinary. Thanks in advance

First things first - your suspension is fine. Second, check the PSI in the tire. An overinflated tire will cause unusual wear in the center of the tire. Third - check your PSi in your tires everytime you fill it up with gas. It's good practice that prevents you from buying new tires all the time, or having to worry about a blow out on a pothole with an overinflated tire.
Yeah, the PSI in the tire was normal enough.....27lbs, I usuall fill them up to 30lbs...so I guess it was a little low, but not enough I would think to cause this. I went ahead and got a new tire from NTB yesterday, so that's that. Thanks for the response!
