Change Oil Light Reset
Change Oil Light Reset I just changed the oil today in my 94 vette today, and my change oil light is still on. I tried turning the key to the accessory position and back three times without and luck. I stopped by and talked to the GM dealer in town the gentleman told me there is a procedure to reset it using the computer in the car. It was late and the service guys had already left, any insight would be appreciated. The light is quite annoying!!!

Hold the trip meter reset button for at least 14 seconds with the car on. That's supposed to take care of it. Most oil change places do it for you.
Thanks for the info... I did it myself...
turn the key to run but dont start the engine
press eng met on the trip monitor then within five seconds press it again
within five seconds press and hold "gauges"on the trip monitor the change oil light should flash
hold the "gauges" button till the change oil light stops flashing and goes out this should take about ten seconds when the light goes out the monitor is reset if the monitor does not reset turn the ignition off and try again
it should be on page 94,95 in the owners manual
