what specifications of car battery do I need?
hi everyone , i just bought a 2002 trans am .. after cruzin last night , the battery seems to be not charging anymore with tried to recharge it , well it starts but everytime i put the ignition off i have to jump it again ,
it is now 7 pm and i need to get a new battery so i CAN GO TO WORK tomorrow , am not in the united states am somewhere in the middle east , couldn`t find something identical to my battery , i just want to know what battery voltage or watts does the trans need so i can bring something similar ,
thank u ,

thank u man i got , a 60-74 690 crancking amp , and it is working fine ..
i think this is a big issue that never been discussed before , what determine the battery size , what does 60-74 and 690 crancking amp ? what if i had something more than it is required ? what would be the damage , what if i took a battery that is lower than the voltage i need and what would be the damage ?
i dont think that everybody knows the answer for my questions ?
thank u NBMZ28 and 5 hoe hater

no damage, i believe the optima red top is almost 1000 cranking amps and the yellow top is a bit less, plenty people use them, i dont think you can have too much. the voltage better be 12, i dont know what other voltages you see but a 6v (tractor/old car) battery probably wouldnt do anything OR do something really bad, but you'd know, because you gotta look for those batteries. almost every battery at most stores is 12v.

When I bought mine I was short on cash, they told me I could get away with the one I bought since I was in Florida, but the OEM CCA (think it means cold cranking amps) should be higher. Been in the car about 3 years with no problems - when this one goes I'm going with an Optima red top.

there is plenty of questions up there .. ur answer really helped thank u very much ,
extra questions .. can one decode the battery card ? cranking Amp ? 12V ? 72-74 , 60-75 ? all written on the battery card ?
all 12V while the others is variable !!
and the by the way the battery was excellent but there was too much rust !!
couldnt clean it and replug it again , it was a one way ticket u wanna clean it then replace it !! cause the battery electrode or whatever it is called was fused with the wire .
