Default Headlight Question

My friend owns a 01 V-6 Firebird and when he goes to flip up his headlights, one of them doesn't come up. Now normally I would think it was the motor or something but it doesn't make a grinding noise or anything. The light goes on, but it doesn't pop up. Any help for him?

Each headlight motor (L/R) has a fuse, check the fuse for the side that has the problem.

Well he is gonna have to check the harness at the motor to see if he has power coming into the motor if it does ......bad motor. The motor doesn't make any noise? not even trying to engage?

He said it isn't making any noise, meaning nothing grinding or the noise like the other one going up.

That piece next to the fuse box (closest to radiator) controls the headlights. My driver side one stopped going up. I replaced it with a used one, and that cured the problem.

It could still be the gear. It's happened to me at least once on both of my 4th gens, and twice it never made any noise at all. It didn't grind, whine or anything. Just no poppy uppy. I did the free fix and Violla!!

Check the connector that the motor plugs into. The driver's side is susceptible to getting wet and corroding.

I've had that happen on mine, except it was only in a bind, probably due to me not getting everything adjusted back the way it was after I replaced the gear. No noise, no movement, nothing. Try giving the **** a few turns (you'll probably need a hex socket & extension to get it to turn, mine was just too stuck to do it by hand) and see if it starts working again.
