Size of our Gas Tanks?

I have a 2002 Camaro SS and when the "Check Gauges" lights on, I put gas right away and It fills up with like 12.5 - 12.8 gallons.....

I just thought we had bigger tanks ...

They are around 16.8 gallons. It's giving you plenty of reserve.

Definitely a good idea to fill up when it warns you to -- you don't want to run the fuel down too low, or you'll fry the fuel pump.

(The reserve is there for an important reason

)

i thought it was 14 gallons...hmph well thats when it seems to top off when i fill it up anyway, i dont know if they are any diff. in an lt1 than ls1

The LT1 f-bodies (93-97) have a metal 15.5 gallon tank. The 98 LS1s also have a metal 15.5 gallon tank. It's the 99-02 LS1s that have the 16.8 gallon plastic tank.
