Default resurfacing rubber rim on t-tops?

Has anyone resurfaced their t-tops? I bought an extra set from here and sanded them down, then I put a plastic/rubber type spray paint on it. The spray proved to be too soft of a plastic/rubber. It was easily dented and looked like crap. Does anyone have experience with resurfacing them? I'm talking about the outer rubber rim on the top. I'm basically looking for something that I can put on the sanded surface.

Any ideas...suggestions?

I'm not buying new ones from GM! I think they're close to a grand for both.

What product did you try already?

That sounds almost exactly like what I tried. The problem was that it's just really soft stuff and won't hold up to any type of abuse even after being dry for a few days.

I forget the brand, but I got it at Lowes. It was a spray on rubber type stuff.
