underside of hood started hitting the performance lid... why?

underside of hood started hitting the performance lid... why? When I first installed my performance lid, it didn't hit or rub on the inside of the hood.
Now! All of a sudden my lid has scuffed marks from the inside of the hood and I can tell it is the hood hitting because the inside of the hood paint is also scuffed up.
Any help on what to look for to fix the problem would be great. Thanks.
