I can't find 5w40 mobil one at walmart like everyone says. They have 5w40 for truck and suv and regular mobil 1 in 5w30 (what I used last time). What is the difference?

Doesn't sound like it would be a problem to use in regular cars, just might cost a bit more for the extra high-temperature protection stuff than it would otherwise.

It's the only 5W-40 oil I see listed on their website, so presumably it's the one people have been talking about

You'll be fine with that. Some people are of the opinion that 5w30 is too thin for the LS1, in which case that would actually be better.

The only 5w40 oil Mobil makes is the Truck and SUV oil so that's the one. It'll work much better for the LS1, since their 5w30 is too thin so it tends to consume more, plus you'll see lower engine wear with the 5w40.
