Did my drivers side once. Did it myself. It took about 3 hours to figure everything out. I bought mine used from a junkyard and its been fine for over 3 years. I need to do passenger side. Since I've done it once before, I figure it should only take about 1.5 hours this time around. Be careful of that spring loaded lever. It DOES hurt when you get hit with that damn thing!
150,000 miles and only had to change one. If your changing them often, there must be some other problem. Make sure the sliders are greased....

no easy way to go to manual (that I know of). You'd be making the job much more complicated anyway. It should only take an hour or two if you know what your doing. 3 tops if its your first time....

50k miles and 5yrs still on the stockers, although they are getting a LOT slower. They still work because I've installed the 530T and increased the resistence so it forces'em up and down

I origanlly replaced the drivers side with the autozone one but i litterly just threw out the recipt like 2 weeks ago. They did't have any in stock anyways so i went across the street to advance discount and got one. It seems 10 times better than the autozone one, its way faster. The install is much easier after you've done it I think it only took like 45mins this time.

However, the interesting point is that the 530T has a "resistence" setting, which basically determines when it should stop rolling windows up. Once a window gets to the top, the motor can't turn any more and the resistence goes way up. The 530T then shuts off. When a motor starts to die, it has a harder time rolling the windows up, thus causing more resistence. If the resistence is high enough, your window will stop rolling up, thus causing you to have to hit your window up switch 20 times to get it all the way up. On the 530T, I raised the resistence tolerance so that it definitely finishes rolling the windows up. Supposedly this decreases the lifetime of a new motor, however since my motors are very old, it's saving their life a little bit because I'm not having to hit the window up button 20 times. Doing that is a very quick way to kill the window motor.
Anyways, I'm still on the stockers. I'm going to buy some with the lifetime warrantee when I have to replace these tho, because there's no way I'm replacing the window motors more than once. PITA.

That is what mine is doing on the the drivers side. It will go about half way up then it will die. If I turn the key off and shut the door and wait a few moments and then try again it will go all the way up, or just shy. Then I just do it all over again till it is up. I figured it had to do with that resister in the motor. I need to pull the tracks out and clean them, and replace the motor. It may just be week or that resister is shot. Not sure yet. Any ideas?
