Where does this hose lead to?

you can see this on my 3800 V6 Bird (2002). It comes back from the engine bay and travels along the torque arm. then just stops. Also I found this other hose with an open end, just to the front of the gas tank. Are these supposed to connect?

Sorry, but I can't get the pics to show more than a couple of minutes. Guess you'll have to do it the old fashioned way and click on the link!

Can't display Webshots images inline at all! When you think you're seeing it display here at any time, you're only seeing a cached copy from when you recently viewed it in Webshots. Have to just link to the album pages (as you have now done), or use a different photo site.
Where does the end in the engine bay connect to? Can you take a photo of where it 'just stops'? How far between there and where that other hose's end is? And do you have some background on this car, any reason why hoses might be separated?

well the hose on the Torque arm i think goes to your transmission. when i pulled the a4 from my 98 camaro it had, i guess a breather hose, but it was held onto the tq arm and just kinda ended but the other end went towards the front of the transmission near the top so it looked like it went into the engine but actually onto the top of the transmission. about the gas tank one, maybe similiar thing? a breather? not sure.
