Default Funny knock while in gear.

When I start my car and leave it in park/neutral, the engine seems fine. When I put it in drive/reverse. . .there is a slight knock coming from the engine. It almost sounds like a rod, but it doesn't make it unless its in gear. Car runs strong regardless, but should I be worried?

Anyone have any ideas what this could be?

Cracked flywheel bro. Pull the driveshaft and get two long gm starter bolts. Pull all of the bellhousing bolts then screw in the two strter bolts. Pull the converter, torque arm and crossmember loose. Then put a floor jack under the trans and a bottle jack under the motor and slide the tranny back. Take a long 9/16 wrench and a flywheel holder and pull the flywheel out. About an hour and a half in and out and you dont have to drop it out.

It could have been that the flywheel wasn't torqued down properly and the weight of the TC along with the centrifugal force could have caused the crack. Just make sure everything is tightened down using more than just a ratchet. Do it properly with a torque wrench since its not worth the trouble and money of having to do it again. BTW, did you use a torque wrench last time?

I've had this noise for 40k miles.Other cars i heard with cracked flywheels knocked as the engine was shutting off as the engine came to a stop. Thanks
