vat system problem

does any one know if the vat system will shut down the ignition while the car is running? will it also let the car crank over but not let it fire? when i turn the ignition on the security light comes on but no blinking .car will only crank. i have changed opti,icm,coil plugs and wires.the car was running and then just died. started right back up then died again. now nothing but cranking over. help anyone????

Sounds like VATS to me, it actually shuts off the fuel. Fuel pump will prime, then the car will start until it runs out of gas again.

How To Change Vat System???,

Any One Know How To Change The Vat? Do You Change The Tumbler And Get New Keys . Where Cani Get A Resistor To Bypass It.?/

You should be able to get a resistor from the local electronic store aka Radioshack

It would not let my car crank when my security system was messing up you would turn the key and not hear a thing. But if it is vats you change out the lock cylinder which requires new keys. Radio shack sells resistors.

you can actually pop the wired section off the new lock and put it on the old one. then no new keys

I personally think it's your ignition module. If it over heats it shuts off. It'll crank but no fire. It'll then run for a bit and shut off by itself. I just got that fixed on mine. Part is 160 bucks though. little dinky electronic not hard to get at. Just my 2 cents
