Default replacing alternator?

hey guys i was looking into replacing my alternator soon, i was wondering if anyone is running the FAST 140amp alternator and where can i get one at, i havent found a site that is selling them. thanks again

Never heard of the FAST alternator. I run a 160A alternator from Afterthoughts Auto - they are actually from Mr. Alternator - reputable hi amp alternator mfg. that has been in business for quite some time. The also have a 200A version that is not listed on the site.

There are powdercoating options for these also - I had mine powdercoated to look as if chrome

Second that,

160 AMP from Afterthoughts Auto is the way to go.

By looking at the pics and description of the FAST alternator it is NOT for LS1 - looks like version for older model GM cars.

I can attest that the one from Afterthoughts is the correct version. Simple install - remove old then install new. No xtra wiring or any other mumbo jumbo needed - it looks exactly like the stocker from the outside and installs exactly the same way. The internals have been upgraded to get the higher output amperage.

ok nice, well ill probably end up just getting that one then. thanks for all the input. i hope this solves my headlight dimmming problem
