Default crack in my radiator

I have a crack in my radiator about an inch below the cap on the plastic part, it is about 3 inches long, it is leaking bad. I need to replace my radiator and need some good directions in doing so, if you could help me now that would be great, i need it done before tomorrow! thanks!

Changing a radiator is a pretty strait forward job. Just start digging into it....

Disconnect negative battery terminal, remove plastic shroud, pull drain plug on the bottom of the radiator and drain fluid, pull upper and lower hoses and any thing else connected and remove. Pretty simple really.

I got the radiator off, new one arrives tomorrow morning. Would you recommend replacing thermostat as well? And what do you mean purge the system for air?

I would only change the Tstat if you want to go with a cooler running one. You will have to have the comp tuned for the fans to turn on at that temp though.

As far as purging.... once you get it all back together just start it up without the cap on and let it run a few minutes to cycle all the fluid. Kill the engine, and look to see if you need to add a little more antifreeze/H20 mix.

Ok sounds good. With the antifreeze and h20 its a 50/50 mix right? No special coolant needed?

Just get the premixed stuff. That way you dont have to worry about it.
