What the hell is wrong with my car now?

What the hell is wrong with my car now? This just started happening recently. I drive a '98 Z28.
When I'm driving my car, my interior lights stay on. When I get out of the car and lock it, the interior lights stay on for about 15 minutes before turning off.
When I'm driving down the street, I hear this typewriter kind of noise coming from the dash. Everytime it does it, my parking lights flash.
I'm not sure how this ties in, but sometimes my gauges will light up like I have the lights on.
I remember we did the !DRL mod to my car a while back by soldering two points together inside of a black box behind the dash. It didn't require any wires or anything, just two points right next to each other on a PCB with a dot of solder between them.. to the best of my recollection anyway.
Any ideas?

my 98z also does this, well, the part about the interior lights staying on while driving.
I haven't found the answer either,
but I believe my problem could be the door latch.
My driver's door sags a bit, and requires a strong pull to fully close.
I think after years of this, the latch could be damaged.
I've read the latch also has the sensor to tell when the door is shut,
so I'm thinking the latch is damaged and not telling the car that the door is shut.
Is that reasonable?
