Power steering problem?

Power steering problem? When I make slow sharp turns I hear a loud noise coming from under my hood, I am thinking that the power steering fluid is low, or the belt is slipping, anyone else ever have this problem?
What kind of power steering fluid should I use in it, one that will work with whats in there now, I assume its factory fluid in there now since my car only has 27k miles on it.
