Default replacing Power Steering Pump

Is it possible to replace the PS pump w/o pulling the water pump? I don't feel like dropping $25/gallon evan's coolant on my garage floor....

Anyone ever done this?

I don't think you can. Just drain the coolant into a clean bucket.

You can remove it with out removing the waterpump however you may have to remove the power steering pulley to access the retaining bolts. Sometimes when removing the ps pulley they break.

here is a link to a pulley that is spoked so you can access the retaining bolts.

you dont have to remove the pulley with an open face wrench or gear wrench to get the thing off the car. IMO its easier to get the pulley offwhen its off the car

Is that so... It looked like a pretty tight fit with the pump on. I have never taken it off so I wouldn't know first hand.

no need to remove w/p. just rent a pulley remover/installer for the p/s pump. take off the pulley and replace pump. install pulley and its done. very simple, looks tight but can be done very easily.
