Default Shell Helix Ultra

Has anyone ever tried Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40? Ferrari uses it as factory fill in their cars...... Its a very expensive oil here in Sweden, and its supposed to be very good.

Save your money and stick with Mobil 1 - we never used shell anything in F15 or F16 USAF fighters ,and they are a allot more exspensive than any Enzo.Than requirement by Ferrari was struck down here in the US by the Moss Magnussen act Basically it tells Ferrari that if they require a $90 a qt. oil to keep the Enzo maint /warranty in tact, Ferrari will have to provide it for free to Enzo owners,it's illeagal to lock someone into a Manufacturer like that here.

I love ignorant comments like this.

I tend to stay away from anything Shell related. Back when the crusher car programs were really heating up, Shell was one of the biggest sponsors of the whole event, while at the same time receiving hundreds of emissions violation tickets for its own factories. For those not aware, the crusher car programs were sponsored by big oil companies as a way to earn credits that allowed them to continue to not clean up their own refineries by crushing old cars, sometimes rare ones at that. Chevron was a big sponsor as well...

Because they know Ferrari owners will buy it if they price it that high. Sometimes companies like to price things ridiculously high so that their rich customers will buy it since they have the mentality that if it's ridiculously expensive, it must be ridiculously good.

It doesent cost more than castrol or mobil1 here in sweden, about the same.
Its a common oil here.

I think i´ll give it a try.....If they use it on ferraris it cant hurt on a ls1

Oh, I see, so it doesnt take $30 to make a quart of Shell Helix, it is the same price to produce and it is not superior in any way to, say the German Castrol 0W-30?
