starting problem

starting problem I have a 98 z28, intermittently it won't start on the first crank, turn off key, try again, fires right up. When it's doing this cranking longer doesn't help. Someone suggested that possibly an ignition relay was going bad, but can't find the post.
Where is the relay located? Anybody have suggestions?

yeah thats what it sounds like. the relay is located in the under hood power center.Left side right in front of the wheel well.its one of the 2 relays in the box closest to the wheel well and the relays are the 2 square relays closest to the fender.One of the relays is your cranking relay and the other is the ignition. switch them around and see what happens.

I gave it a shot, tried the fuel pump relay too,didn't seem to make any difference unfortunately, any other ideas?

I'm having the same problem, only its getting worse. I turn the key and everything gets power but the starter. On the first start of the day, it can take several turns of the key before I finally get the starter to come online. Battery power is not a problem, and the engine cranks right away once the starter engages.
