Default jack question

is it 100% safe to jack the car from the differential (pumpkin)? i want to install a catback and i want to put it on stands, and the easiest way would be to jack it from the dif, i wont mess anything up right? any tips?

Yep, just don't catch the 10-bolt cover plate on the lip of the jack. Could bend the cover and start a leak....

it wont bend? i have a 6 ton hydrolic jack with a large flat plate which makes contact with the car, it wont mess the cover up?

Like he said. With a flat plate jack I would also use a
2 x 8 or 2x10 piece of wood for a "crush zone".
But I like to be extra careful (wanna see the scars?)
If you need extra clearance between the differential and
the body, jack up the car and put jackstands under the
body to let the suspension drop .
But yeah, a good jack under the pumpkin will work.
Suggest you use jackstands also.
