I am trying to tune my 5.0 by fuel pressure modification and am wondering if this smoke is normal too, when i hit it with a friend behind the car, he says there is a SMALL puff of jet black smoke (very minor, dissipates b4 it hits the pavement-5.0 pipes are turn-down style). I am trying to get rid of lean-stumbles in the morning. How much of this black smoke when nailed is acceptable, PS, i have no cats.

W/o the black puff tune (about 1psi lower fuel pressure) my plugs were VERY MINORLY sooty, and the "arm" was a sooty tan color, I think I will go back 1 psi b/c this had no ugly smoke, and my plugs still looked a LITTLE rich, no?

i know in my eclipse it was tunned to run richer just because like someone said eailer it is a ton better to run richer than leaner... lean = higher temps which = bad motor not good...i'd rather spend more time changing the plugs more often than to replace my motor b/c it ran lean b/c of some crazy event.
