Read the first paragraph of my reply to your other post. All you should need is the correct wrench or socket to remove the rear u joint at the flange. Use a c-clamp or wrap some good tape around the u joint caps after you take it off to keep the caps from falling off and the needle bearings from going all over the floor.

Just pull the driveshaft yoke out of the transmission. Depending on the seal type you may be able to tap around tha outside of the flange with a hammer & screwdriver and ease the seal out the back.

If there is no flange you have to pry it out. Some auto stores will loan tools for free when you buy the parts there. Call around and ask if they have a seal puller you can use befor you buy a seal. Usually a screwdriver will do this. Just go around in a circle and pry a little at a time until it comes out. Do not scratch the inside if the housing where the seal presses in to. If you have the back of the car higher than the front it will reduce the amount of fluid that will come out. Have something to catch the fluid.

When you buy a seal try to find one that has a rubber outside coating. It will seal any small scratches or imperfections in the transmission housing. If you can't find a rubber coated one clean the inside of the housing with brake clean & dry it. Wipe the outside of the metal seal with some brake clean on a rag and dry it off. Wipe a thin coat of RTV or similar gasket sealer around the outside of the seal. Then carefully tap it in with a hammer going around a little at a time. Take note of how far the old seal is pressed in and put the new one in to the same depth.

Read my first paragraph of my other reply and smooth any burs if you find any. Make sure the rear u joint is correctly seated between the little tangs that keep it from moving from side to side. After it is back together make sure to fill the transmission with new fluid if needed.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

The u joint is usually stuck in the pinion flange. Put the caps on if you took them off and put the bolts back in about 1/2 way. Then put a big screwdriver, tire iron, pry bar etc. in the center and pry the center of the u joint toward the front of the car. It will pop loose. Having the bolts 1/2 way in just keeps it from falling on the ground. Take the bolts out and then you can push the drive shaft foreward enougn so you can swing the driveshaft to one side and then pull it out of the transmission.
