strange noise when warming up....

strange noise when warming up....

im getting a whining noise when i start up my car after its been warmed up....i will start it up in the morning...drive it...park it and get in it 5 minutes later and this noise that sounds like like my engine is whining will last about 5 minutes then all of a sudden stop...

this one fella told me that its my "gulp valve"???

any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks

Mine does the same thing. I am looking into removing the !AIR system.

It injects air in the exaust to warm up the cats a little quicker.

The AIR pump whines on mine as well. As long as it still works, you don't need to worry about it unless the 20 Sec. noise bothers you.

indeed it does bother me...interior noises dont but engine noises do...so is it some kinda valve that would do this? how costly would it be to replace the AIR system?

There is no need to replace it, the whining noise means that the AIR system is working properly. If the noise bothers you so much, you can remove the AIR system and it will be gone. Then you need to make or buy some block off-plates for the headers/manifolds .
