Turn Signal Bulb

ok, my pass. side turn signal bulb has blown, exploded, twice in the last 4 months. In addition, it has just burned out another time. Not sure what the deal is. Drivers side is fine. Any clues on what could cause this?

Is water getting in there?.. If anything apply some bulb grease and see if that helps.

My sockets melted!!! Dealer wanted something like $60 for one

I found them at AutoZone for a few dollars and spliced the new ones in and packed the sockets with dielectric grease.
Make sure your sockets are not burned or melted and pack them with Dielectric grease. GM is ****!!! a 2001 car with melted light sockets...sheesh.

Check the lens cover. I'll bet it is cracked.

sorry ,but i had the same problem with the driver side . i looked under there and the bulb was toast .the socket wasn't melted but it was a little dark. i replace it and now it looks yellowish instead of normal.

Your right I do have a crack in the housing. Any idea how you change that? I have a hard time just reaching the bulb.

Change the housing and you will be fine. I had the same problem with one of the parking lights.

Those housings aren't cheap. If its just a small crack, then seal it up with some clear caulk.
