Trans smoothness diff between years or gears?

Trans smoothness diff between years or gears? well I'm gonna be picking up my 2000 T/A next week. It has 28K miles on it, and I drove it when it was new and have known it since then. The car was very very well taken care of. I also have an 02 Firehawk.
My question is...has anyone who has owned different year LS1's with an auto trans, or maybe changed rear gears, noticed a shift smoothness diff?
I ask because my 02 shifts like a a Caddy at light throttle. Very very smooth. The 00 shifts quite a bit more firmly. The only dif between the two is 22K miles, and the 00 has the 273's in the back. Both are stock.
I know the 00 shifted like this new..just curious if anyone has an answer for this?

Well I've only owned 1 LS1, which is my 98 A4 Camaro. 1-2 will throw your head back at light rpms, 2-3 is a little firm and the rest are pretty smooth. 2.73s with stock everything.
