Warranty questions
How long is my warranty good for, i have the extended one, so is that 75,000 miles??
And, if i take my car to the dealer, will they:
1. Fix the rattle in my passenger window and figure out why it goes up slower than the driver side??
2. R/R the tail lights? I had blackouts and they dimpled... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Re: Warranty questions
Yes they should fix it, the window motor is dragging. My driver side did this so i replaced it.Just tell them sometimes it stops when trying to close, leaving window open. This is a safety item, insist they fiw it. If your rear lights were damaged by blackouts then you might be on your own about that.

Re: Warranty questions
Hi I'm a technician at a Chevrolet dealership,
Are you in your extended warranty or still under factory 3 year 36,000? At any rate if your under your factory your window will be covered and should be replaced. Just state that its slow and stops at times. Thats a heavy window that little motor has to lift. My personal opinion is that they should have stepped up the power of the motor to deal with the extra load on it. As for the rear lights, you are on your own, physical damage is not covered unless the damage resulted from a malfunction of the car.
Extended warranty companies vary from buiness to busines and policy to policy. If you have GMPP it closely follows GM factory warranty and covers most repairs with the exception of wearable items. Your window will be covered there but then again, your taillights wouldn't. As for any other aftermarket warranty companies, it up to their discretion on what the service agreement is and what they will and will not honor. Some are bumper to bumper and some are just drive train. So, if you have a aftermarket warranty thats not GMPP and they wont cover your repair, getting bent with the dealership wont help you one bit, your problem will be with your warranty company. Just think of aftermarket warranty companies as insurace policies on the mechanical condition of your vehicle. A lot have deductubles of varying degrees just as your liability and collision insurance. My advice, learn as much as you can about the policy you have. Learn what it covers and what it does not, so you wont get stuck with a repair bill. Hope this helps.....
