Default Re-Setting the Oil Change Light

I have seen on several of the Forms the question; How do I get the Oil Change Light to Go Off? I thought that I would post the way to Re-set the Oil Change Light so that it could be copied and kept in your Glove Box so that you could refer to it just in case you forget how to re-set the Oil Change light.

First, turn on your ignition switch to the run position (DO NOT START ENGINE). Quickly look on the left of your instrument cluster. You will see the phrase "OIL CHANGE". (I tell you to do this so that you will know where to look in the next phase. Now, turn the ignition switch off. Okey, let's re-set your Oil Change Light. Turn on the Ignition Switch to the RUN postion. (DO NOT START the ENGINE). With in 5 seconds, PUSH IN and HOLD the TRIP METER BUTTON UNTIL the OIL CHANGE LIGHT COMES ON and FLASHES TWICE. (You may have to hold the trip meter button in for 12 to 15 seconds before the Oil Change Light Flashes Twice). Once the OIL CHANGE LIGHT flashes two times, your Oil Change Light has been re-set.

what the hell thats a waste of time. plus you have to reset your trip odometer. just put the key into the on position without starting it and press the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. light is cleared.

Why would you turn the switch on to look...then turn it off...then turn it back on.???.. ...and surely people can remember how to do this without copying it and putting it in the glove box....if they cannot remember how to do this very simple procedure, they better see a doctor.
