Default Squeaking sound under hood

When I first start the car, and until it reaches normal operating temperature, there is a constant squeeking sound from under the hood. It does NOT change with engine rpm, it's always the same pitch. What might be the culprit? And is it something easy to fix? It in no way compromises driveability, the car runs like a champ squeak or not. It's just an annoying sound I'd like to get rid of.

Thanks

I have this exact same problem. I changed my belts and used belt dressing. That doesnt help.

I also have this problem. I noticed it after I washed my car. I washed under the hood a little trying not to get much water in there but now it squeaks. It has been like this for Months.

I have the same problem. Just started recently. I thought it might be the water pump going.

I'll try the wd40 first.

It is most likely your AIR system (Not the A/C.) It functions to put used exhaust gases back into the intake at low load cruising type speeds. So they heat up the gases that are going back in which can heat the intake thus creating the possibility for some power. I still have a squeek because I haven't had time to remove the AIR system nor buy block off plates. But do check the for important things first such as SeVeReDiStOrTiOn mentioned.

It also makes it easier to change your plugs.

Well am I in jeopardy of any major breakdown? I really don't feel like tearing into the engine compartment, and I don't have any money to spare atm anyways, heck I can't even replace my bald tires lol!

Severe, how do I check if those things you mentioned are the culprit? I haven't tinkered around under the hood of my car yet.

idler pulley here.

Got some silicon lubrication and sprayed at various places until I got the right one. (wd 40 is too thin and will dry out quickly)

When diagnosing, I nailed it down to it quieting when I had the a/c on, I looked underneath for the compressor and found that second belt there.

I know which pulley is making the noise unfortunately I dont know the name of it to tell everyone. Its right by the power steering fluid fill.

Ok so I went out and got the belt dressing...sprayed the inside of the belt a little bit, let the car run for 5-10 minutes. Still no change. I then went to each pulley and sprayed belt dressing directly on it. Didn't notice any change, except on one. I sprayed the pulley below the power steering pump and the squeeking stopped for a few seconds, then started again. What is that pulley?
