low oil pressure

im going to manually check the pressure and determine if its the sending unit. i just assume because i have sprayed my motor for a while that it is maybe the bearings. i will check the easy stuff first and if thats not it i will check the bearings.
my oil pressure goes about 40psi quite a bit, when i floor it, when i cruise at higher mph down the highway etc. its just when its hot and at idle at a light or such that it goes down. i have a new oil pump i want to install anyway. so after i check the sending unit and manually check the pressure i will look into the bearings.
like i said im just cautious because of the fact i spray it
