Anyone have a guide on how to do it? Pretty sure that mine are shot. Running Hooker LTs ...and the thing is, the entire exhaust system is welded together....so would prefer to not have to seperate it????

I have pacesetters and changed mine over to prothane. It was a PITA on the pass side (O2 WS6) and the drivers was easy. It is not that long to do it either. It took about 6 hours total to do for me. Oh yeah and it help alot to have a bench vise if your converting to the harder mounts.

Good luck, Dave

Oops, I was thinking of LT1 motor mounts. Can't help you with LS1.

When I did mine a couple of years ago I pulled the altenator on the drivers side and unbolted the ac on the passengers. I used a block of wood on a floorjack to hold the motor under the oil pan. I have Hookers as well. If your a decent wrench turner its not as bad as I've seen people make it. I had it done in around 3 hrs taking breaks in between.

I just got a quote for $300 to have them done. Sound fair?

I think its a bit much, but then again it could be a fair price. I dont even know how many book hours Gm charges. I would find that out and go from there. If its an experienced shop it might be worth it. It depends on how they are going to do it. If they're pulling the exhaust, alt, ac, etc.

300 sounds reasonable from the dealer, assuming it would take about 4 hours @ around 74$ an hour, which seems ballpark to me.
