I've worked at O'Reilly's, Auto Zone, Discount Auto & Advanced Auto and I've run pretty much all of their filters (not on my LS1) and out of all of them I've liked WIX the best. They didn't sell K&N back then, and I wouldn't have run a $12 filter on any of my old cars anyways, so I don't have any personal comparisons between the two. Maybe I'll have to try both and get an analysis done on my oil for both.

Wix filters are very good filters, but for my money I prefer the K&N. The K&N filters are made with high flow as their priority, which is much more critical when you're driving hard all the time.

If they stopped making the K&N I would most likely switch to a Wix filter though (which by the way also includes NAPA Gold, Carquest premium and Kralinator, these are all rebadged Wix filters)

I've used HP-2006 K&N filters for the entire life of my car - and now just switched to Wix filters only because a nice NAPA just opened close to home. I'll send my oil in for analysis after the 3k and post up

That'll be great! What oil you run?
