Question HELP ME!! loud squeal, throwing belts!!!!

ok, i just got a 99 z and it had a loud squeal, i thought it was the belt, replaced it and it went away, but i drove about 5 miles and it jumped off, so i thought i didnt put it on right, put it back on, and it jumped off again. everything looks to be inline, but it kinda looks like my crank pulley (harmonic balancer) it wobbling just a little, could that be the prob. or is it ok for them to wobble a little, it feels tight. oh the old belt stays on but squeals really loud!!

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

All the LS1 car's I've had have a slight wobble to the crank pulley. Don't think that's the issue.

I was going to say that the tensioner is probably bad and causing the belt to slip off but you say that the old belt stays on fine. So I'm thinking that maybe the car has some aftermarket pullies and needs a shorter belt than the new one you just bought??? Just a thought.

hows your belt tensioner looking...those are common problems. if you cant find it, crank your car with the hood poped, take a long solid metal object and place it on certain parts of the serpentine system and whatever is noticable louder than the others is usually your culprit..

I had that problem and it ended up being my ASp pulley coming apart.
