Default Car won't shutt off

I have an 86 Camaro v6 2.8L automatic. I recently drove home and parked the car and took the key out and the car kept running. Also it is extremely hard to shift gears. This all happened at the same time. Could this be a vacuum problem? When I say it keeps running I'm not talking about "dieseling". I can drive it around without the keys in it after I start it. I had to pull a fuse to shut it off.

Retard your timing? Reduce idle speed? Turn on AC before trying to turn off?

Will that bad ignition switch cause the hard shifting? And is it easy to replace one?

I had the same thing happen on my 82. The ignition lock cylinder/key switch was bad. Replaced it and solved the problem. However, now I can't take my keys out of the ignition to open the garage without turning off the car like I used to be able to!
