EGR Valve and Bushings?
I'm looking to buy a 98 Z28 this week. The guy says the only problems are that it needs a new EGR Valve, and it shakes on the highway due to worn Bushings on the Front Control Arm, or so he was told. I was wondering how much this would essentially cost to fix, I'm offering him 9k, but with the problems it will be a more expensive car considering it needs work. Can I tune out and block of the EGR, and how could I do that. I've done some searching but haven't found anything detailed, any info would be appreciated as I'm set to test drive the car in a couple of days.
Thanks in Advance :-).

You can tune out the EGR valve with tuning software. Cheapest way is to find someone in your area with HPTuners or EFILive that will do it for a few bucks or some beer. For the suspension, if you're not doing the work yourself, plan on spending ~$500-600 to have bushings replaced....it would be a good time to replace the ball joints as well. Call around to get estimates and try to knock that much off the purchase price.

Yeah I'm hoping to get the EGR tuned out, I doubt anyone in my area has a program to do it, so I might just get a basic tune from Mad Z28 or something. Otherwise I will just replace the valve. As far as the bushings go it sounds like it's gonna cost $400 to replace them... hopefully I can talk the guy down from 9,000 to 8,500 based on the problems, if not looks like I'm gonna continue looking. No way I'm spending 9,000 for a car that needs 5-6 hundred in work.
