Default E-Brake problems

I was on a hill and decided to see if my e brake worked, so i pulled it up 5 or so clicks and nothing happend, I pulled harder and the car still rolled backwords.

I heard that the E-brake cable can stretch out, is that possible? if so is it an easy fix? or mabye there is just an adjustment that needs to be made?

replies would be great

thanks

More than likely the parking brake shoes are just worn out. They are easy to replace, just remove the rear rotors and have at it.

don't the LT1 cars use the same brake pads as they do for normal stopping? I know the LS1 based cars have a separate system for the e brake, but I am pretty sure the LT1 based cars don't.

thanks for the replies and info, so it seems that they just need to be adjusted, I heard that the cable itself can get stretched out? is that possible? or does the adjustment just get messed up after a while?

didnt the lt1's have back drum brakes?

if so, it would just use the drum, while the LS1's have 4 disc
