odd rattle on cold start and hard left turns??? non ls1 car This is for my 95 grand am, its an auto v6. Very strange...when I start the car after it has been sitting for some time, there is a rattle coming from somewhere under the hood. I have yet to pinpoint the location after trying to listen for a location several time, so I know that doesnt help things. Once the car warms up, for maybe 30 sec of driving, it goes away unless I make a fairly hard left turn and give it a decent amount of load. It also seems like with the higher rpm from the load, that it is more frequent and a faster rattle.
The noise almost sounds like a heat shield rattle from a vibration. It sounds very similar to the way the T/A makes the aluminum ladder rattle in the garage (if you can imagine that as well). I just feel like I am getting nowhere fast finding thsi, and its just annoying. Any pointer on somethign to look for, for those of you that may have had a similar issue, PLEASE let me know! haha, thanks.
