Default successful plug change!

well last night i pulled one of my plugs just to see how bad, and well, it was pretty bad to say the least. the gap looked alot wider than it should be and the core was kinda burnt up. checked the gap and it came out .76, then decided it was time for new plugs. so last night i picked up some ngk tr5's and some anti seize and went to work with a friend. if you're from the south you know its hott as hell during the day so i decided to tackle this at night, well around 11 after the engine cooled down we went to work removing the a.i.r. and e.g.r. then pulled all wires off and loosened driver side plugs. when we got to passenger side the original wires at 125k were pretty shot and dryrotted and number 2 cylinder wire just pulled apart trying to free it up. i then continued further back on the passenger side until i arrived at that notorius sob of a plug number 8. well, i expected a lot more problems than i actually had, i had a 1/2 socket drive with a 1inch swivel and got it loose on first try...maybe luck iono but i was happy. next i applied all the anti seize and begun reinserting all the plugs and then arrived at the number 8 again and after dropping the plug 3 times finally got it started, then after dropping wrench and drive twice, finally got it tightened down. once 2 oclock rolled around we went to bed. i woke up this morning to begin a search of hopefully some 8.5mm wires, but came up useless. after i realized i would have to put oem replacements on, then i couldnt even find those. i finally found a set at a place 20 minutes away and came home to put them back on. i reinstalled air and egr and fired her up. it idled fine, then after it warmed up i decided to go on spirited run. i got on it leaving the driveway and got sideways. i could tell a nice throttle response difference. i opened it up on the highway but my car electronically limited itself right around 115, why is this? its a stock 1998 z28. ive had 2 camaro's before this a 1999 and a 2001 and neiter did this? sorry for the pointless post i just decided to share a success story to all of you out there who are debating changing them yourself or not, do it, im 17 and i did it in under 3 hours total on my first time with a few problems along the way...

its limited because your car came with 16 wheels, and tires that gm deemed, unsafe over 115, so they put a cap on it. almost any "power programmer" will get rid of that for you nowadays...

it has nothing to do with 16 inch rims.\

It has everything to do with the tires ordered on the car.

If you look at the rpo codes on your car you should find a code indicating the tire/rim combo.

Odds are it also is an auto with a 2.73 gear set as well.

As far as I know, all 6 speed cars received 3.42 gears and z rated tires. 4 speed auto cars had 2.73 standard but if was SS had 3.23 gears and 17 inch rims with z rated tires. Optional for z28 was a specific handling package that could get you the 3.23 gear set with z rated, or specifically a tire option for z rated tires (while still retaining the 2.73 gear set).

Limiter is set to 162 mph for cars with z rated, 115 for cars without z rated.

That's as much as I can recall, if anyone else has anything to add go ahead. Our roads suck around here, fastest I have gone is 140mph with plenty of room to spare in 5th. 4th gear takes you to 120mph or so.

i usually also try to put on a large spoiler on the back of my ride, it adds between 60-90 horsepower depending on how many different levels it has, let me show you my favorite...

NOT ONLY THAT! but, if you add 20 ram airs to your FBOD, not only does it increase driver visibility by up to %40, BUT it also adds between 100-150 HP
